Robert Edward Teaney

	Robert Edward Teaney, 80, of DuQuoin, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2000 at 8:10 p.m. at the VA Medical Center in Marion.
	Mr. Teaney was a painter and a member of the First Baptist Church of DuQuoin.  He was a very gifted musician.  He was a US Army veteran of World War II where he was a medic assistant and sign painter. While serving in the Army during World War II he received one overseas service bar, one service stripe, the American Campaign medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct medal and the World War II Victory medal.
	He was born November 1, 1919 at DuQuoin, the son of Louis Alfred and Anna Olivia (Anderson) Teaney.  He married Virginia Ruth Spiller on August 3, 1940 at Jackson, Mo.
	Surviving are his wife, Virginia, of DuQuoin; one son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Brenda Teaney of DuQuoin; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Raymond Pyron of DuQuoin; three grandchildren, Mark Smith and special friend Susan of Springfield, Fla., Virginia Harris of DuQuoin and Terri and husband Ron Pigg of DuQuoin and 10 great-grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Linda, three sisters and three brothers.
	Funeral services were Saturday, October 21 at 1:30 p.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating.  Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at DuQuoin.
	Friends may called at Neal-McClure Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
